3Risk Briefing

Water activities are generally safe, but not risk-free. Please read about the typical risks.

I acknowledge that water activities such as SUP, kayaking, canoeing, rafting, packrafting, rubber-boat trips, paddling tours and comparable leisure activities are associated with typical risks despite careful organisation, tested equipment, safety briefing and accompaniment by guides.

These risks include in particular:

  • capsizing or falling into the water;
  • currents, eddies, shallows, slippery stones and changing water levels;
  • collisions with boats, bridge piers, stones, wood, shore areas or other obstacles;
  • hypothermia, exhaustion, sunstroke, heat, weather changes or thunderstorms;
  • cuts, bruises, sprains, blunt or crushing injuries or other injuries;
  • loss of or damage to personal items;
  • dangers from independent behaviour or non-compliance with instructions;
  • risks from other water users, animals, natural events or unforeseeable circumstances.

I understand that these risks cannot be completely eliminated.

Before every tour, you will receive a safety briefing from the guide at the meeting point. Please confirm the following points:

The equipment you receive depends on your tour. Final handover and function check happens at the meeting point.

7Liability

TraunXperience is liable for personal injury in accordance with statutory provisions. Independent or safety-violating behaviour is excluded.

I am aware that TraunXperience is liable for personal injury in accordance with statutory provisions.

For other damage, TraunXperience is liable in accordance with statutory provisions and the applicable General Terms and Conditions.

TraunXperience is not liable for damage caused exclusively by my unauthorised, contract-breaching or safety-violating conduct, in particular through:

  • non-compliance with safety instructions;
  • false statements regarding swimming ability, health or fitness;
  • participation under the influence of alcohol, drugs or significantly impairing medication;
  • leaving the group on my own initiative;
  • use outside the agreed area;
  • navigating closed areas;
  • wilful or improper use of equipment;
  • disregard of nature, water, navigation or safety rules.

Mandatory legal rights remain unaffected.

8Liability for Equipment and Damage

For damage caused culpably to equipment, you are liable. Normal wear and tear is not at your expense.

I acknowledge that I am liable for damage to equipment or other damage to the extent I have culpably caused it.

This applies in particular to:

  • improper use;
  • disregard of safety instructions;
  • prohibited transfer to third parties;
  • wilful damage;
  • loss;
  • use outside the agreed area;
  • culpably caused recovery, retrieval or cleaning.

Normal wear and tear and non-recognisable material defects are not at my expense.

9Personal Items

Smartphone, camera, jewellery, glasses & co. are carried at your own risk. Better leave valuables at home.

I acknowledge that I carry personal items such as smartphone, camera, watch, jewellery, glasses, clothing, wallet, keys and other valuables at my own risk, unless these are expressly accepted by TraunXperience for safekeeping.

For school groups, associations or other groups, I acknowledge that the general duty of supervision of the respective teachers, accompanying persons or group leaders remains in place. TraunXperience assumes the technical leadership on the water.

12Photo & Video Consent (voluntary)

This consent is voluntary. Participation in TraunXperience services is also possible without this consent.

What happens with the recordings?

Purposes: Presentation of services, public relations, marketing & advertising, documentation of tours and experiences, social-media posts, reels, short videos, presentations and information materials.

Publication and usage channels: TraunXperience website, Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, YouTube, Google Business Profile, print materials, flyers, brochures, presentations and other online and offline advertising media.

Type of recordings: Individual and group recordings, landscape and tour recordings, short video sequences, reels / short videos / social-media clips, recordings during the tour, at entry, exit, paddling, in group moments and during nature experiences.

No sensitive depictions: TraunXperience will not publish recordings that show participants in a deliberately disparaging, embarrassing or obviously unfavourable manner. There is no entitlement to publication of specific recordings.

Voluntariness and revocation: This consent is voluntary and may be revoked at any time with effect for the future – by email to office@traunxperience.at. The lawfulness of processing carried out until revocation is not affected. Already printed advertising materials or content shared by third parties may not be fully retrievable.

Duration: The recordings may be used until revocation. TraunXperience reviews at appropriate intervals whether further use is still necessary.

For minors: Consent of the legal guardians is required.
