Our Wooden Boats
No plastic, no mass tourism. Our two handcrafted wooden boats made of warm mahogany are the heart of the Danube Special. Equipped with Lowrance fish finders, professional rod holders and powerful motors – yet so beautiful that you just want to sit back and take it all in.
The boats offer space, comfort and safety. Even the family dog is welcome on board!

Your Day on the Danube
Morning
Meeting Point & Briefing
We meet on the banks of the Danube. Juergen explains the equipment, shows you the fish finder and reveals where the fish are hiding. Life jackets on – and off we go!
Late Morning
Out on the Water – Let's Fish!
The wooden boat glides out onto the Danube. The fish finder shows the best spots. Catfish, pike-perch, pike – anything is possible here. Juergen helps with every cast and explains what's happening beneath the surface in a fun, child-friendly way.
Midday
Break on a Gravel Bank
We pull up at a spot along the shore for a break. Dangle your feet in the water, collect stones or simply enjoy the silence. Time to breathe and soak it all in.
Afternoon
Tubing Action!
Now things get wild! The inflatable tube comes out, and off you go flying across the water. Whether sitting or standing – pure adrenaline! Who dares to spread their arms wide?
Late Afternoon
The Last Catch & Heading Home
One last try at your favourite spot. Then the boat glides back to shore as the sun bathes the valley in gold. A day you won't forget in a hurry.

The First Catch – Unforgettable!
You'll never forget this moment: the rod bends, your heart pounds – and then you're holding your very first catfish. Whether you're 6 or 60 years old: the smile is always the same.
Fishing pro Juergen shows you the right technique and helps with the fight. Even complete beginners regularly land impressive fish here. Promise!

By the way, our youngest guests are often the most successful anglers. Kids just have the knack!

What Fish Swim Here?
The Danube in Upper Austria is home to numerous fish species. These four are the ones our guests encounter most often:
Catfish (Wels)
Silurus glanis
The king of the Danube! Europe's largest freshwater fish is caught here regularly. With its distinctive barbels and smooth skin, it's an impressive catch.
Pike-perch (Zander)
Sander lucioperca
The silver predator with the big eyes. Pike-perch are clever, cautious and a true gourmet fish. Catching a big one is like earning a badge of honour!
Pike
Esox lucius
The "water wolf" with the long snout. Pike are lightning-fast hunters and fight like crazy on the line. A pike strike is pure adrenaline!
Barbel
Barbus barbus
The powerful barbel lives on the bottom of the Danube. It has four barbels on its mouth and puts up a surprisingly strong fight. A brilliant catch for kids!
When the wind blows through your hair and water sprays everywhere – that's when you know: THIS is living!
Not Just Fishing – Action Too!
Between fishing sessions, our tube comes into play. Being towed behind the boat across the Danube – that's fun for the whole family!
Tubing on the Danube
Whether sitting, kneeling or standing – being towed on an inflatable tube behind the boat is pure adrenaline. You set the speed yourselves: from leisurely to “Stoooop!”
Life jackets are of course mandatory, and Juergen at the helm keeps everything in sight. Safety always comes first – but the fun is guaranteed not to fall short.
The Young Captain
Under supervision, even the youngest get to take the helm! Studying the fish finder, holding course, reading the fish symbols on the screen – an experience that makes children's eyes light up.
And who knows: perhaps someone discovers a love for the water here that lasts a lifetime.
A Day for the Whole Family
The Danube Special is perfect for families with children from around 6 years old. While some are fishing, others can explore the boat, watch nature or simply let their minds wander.
No mobile signal, no Wi-Fi, no stress. Instead, real conversations, shared wonder and memories that no photo in the world can capture (though we try anyway!).
Tip: The family dog is welcome on board too!

Romantic Boat Tour to the Schlögen Loop
Glide through one of the most spectacular river valleys in Europe in a beautiful wooden boat for two – experience the famous Schlögen Loop from the water. Steep forests, mirror-smooth water, absolute silence. Perfect for an anniversary, a special occasion or simply because it's beautiful.
