How your school day works

  1. Meeting Point & Welcome

    Guide meets the class, life jackets on, brief introduction. Easily accessible by public transport – only approx. 30 minutes from Linz or Lake Traunsee.

  2. Safety Briefing

    Learn paddling technique, water safety, river ecology – explained age-appropriately.

  3. Trip on the Traun

    Paddle through the Traun Gorge, nature observation, teamwork. Approx. 2–3 hours.

  4. Break & Reflection

    Snack break by the water, debrief with the guide.

  5. Arrival

    You arrive back at the starting point at your vehicle. Total duration approx. 4 hours.

Frequently Asked Questions

How is supervision handled?

Teachers retain their duty of supervision. Our guide handles the technical leadership on the water and ensures the safety of the group.

What is the minimum age for students?

Participation from age 12. Swimming skills required. Under 18: parental consent form (included in the parent letter).

Do we need a parental consent form?

Yes. We provide a ready-made parent letter with consent form as a PDF. Simply download it above and distribute to parents.

Is there insurance coverage?

TraunXperience has business liability insurance. We also recommend student accident insurance through the school. More about safety →

What happens in bad weather?

In case of thunderstorms or high water, the date is rescheduled free of charge. Light rain is no problem – the kids will get wet anyway!
